New to TK or PreK?
This series is to prepare and support Transitional Kindergarten or Pre Kindergarten teachers working with younger children!
Registration for each prerecorded workshop is $49. Register for seven or more and the cost is $35 each.
Important Terms to Know:
UPK – Universal Pre-K – the umbrella term that covers all classes of children who are ages 4-5. This includes public TK classes and private pre-k.
TK – Transitional Kindergarten– a class for children ages 4-5, with content similar to pre-k. Typically considered the first year in a two year kindergarten program. Historically, TK in public schools were open to children who turned 5 in the fall.
UTK – Universal Transitional Kindergarten – the new expansion of TK in the public schools, eventually allowing all four year-olds to enroll in this wonderful grade.
We at CKA (the California Kindergarten Association) often use the three above phrases interchangeably, but they do have slight differences.
