Most of you are now enjoying a well earned summer vacation – yay! Well, all that sunshine has clearly gotten to us and Tuesday Teaching Tips are on summer time this week. Ahem. Sorry about that! We’re sure you’ll find this awesome organizational tip from CKA Board Member and Kindergarten teacher, Kimberly DeMille was well worth waiting for. :) Want to get organized and have everything at your fingertips next year? Here’s what Kimberly does:
I organize my materials for each week- in jumbo hefty ziplocs, with the lesson plan page at the top and individual projects in gallon ziplocs.
I then organize the bags in plastic tubs (you know, the ones you use for organizing holiday decorations, etc). I have one tub for September – November, one bin for December, another for January-February, and a last one for March- June. Having my lesson plans inside the big ziplocs are a new addition, which I am most excited about because this way I can find things much faster!!!
Have plans to get more organized this summer? Have a favorite way to keep your materials at your fingertips? We’d love to hear about them!
