Managing TK Classrooms through Centers

In March 2014 CKA Board members Debra Weller, Judy Crenshaw, and Ada Hand presented a workshop on Managing TK through Classroom Centers. We are providing this information to you as part of CKA’s goal of professional development.

Here is an example of an integrated unit on “Apples Are Living Things,” from a previous workshop for preschool and kindergarten teachers.  It demonstrates the broad array of activities for centers and whole groups on a particular theme.

Apple Unit workshop plan:  An additional activity you may undertake is to work with cross-grade teachers to list relevant Common Core State Standards and Foundations.
