Looking for a quick and easy way to practice sight words? CKA Treasurer and veteran Kindergarten teacher, Heather Hardaway Morrow shares today’s adorable Tuesday Teaching Tip with us that’s perfect for this time of year!
Here’s a fun sight word activity with very little prep. Students write one letter on each segment of the caterpillar to form a sight word. I set out 2″ squares in one color for the head (green) and 1-1-2″ squares in differing colors for the bodies. Students choose the words they would like to make and then begin to build their caterpillar. Students may cut off the corners to make circles if they wish and add details to the caterpillars.
