Happy first day of summer! The 4th of July is right around the corner. For a quick review of patterns, grab one of those star wire garlands you can get at the dollar store, or at a party store. This time of year you should be able to find them in red, silver and blue. Simply pull the stars off – no cutting required. One garland should be enough for your entire class to do this activity. If you have to buy 3 garlands (because they’re each just a single color rather than a multi-colored one) then you’ll have enough for the next couple of years, too! Then cut some construction paper into long strips, grab some glue sticks and you’re ready to make some Independence Day patterns!
