Give your students practice recognizing sight words (high frequency words) with some text and a pen or highlighter. The student in the photo is using a poem that’s been laminated. You don’t have to have laminated poems to make this activity work, though. You could easily print out poems and slip them into page protectors. Or simply give your students pages out of magazines and a highlighter and let them search for sight words that way.
This same activity works well for searching for the letter of the week, or for searching for punctuation, too. Happy hunting!
